The Chumley Homeplace

Chumley

The Chumley Homeplace is the house of choice for those who love a more informal setting.  The heart of the Chumley Homeplace is a vintage two- story walnut log house moved to the property by the Chumley family in 1963.

The exposed-log keeping room, with its huge stone fireplace and deep chairs, is the ultimate bad weather hideout.  The center coffee table displays artifacts found during the restoration of Vaucluse.  Original Chumley paintings recall the days when the artist was in residence.

Chumley

The Stone Terrace common room’s many windows look out over the three-season perennial border and into the woods where birds and squirrels abound.  Wicker furniture makes this an altogether lighter room.

The screened porch and its rockers overlook Vaucluse Spring -- the perfect venue for rockin’ and talkin’.
