Paddle with Downriver Canoe Company
Downriver Canoe Company is one of our favorite providers to go kayaking with because they let you paddle at your own pace. Their kayaking excursions are not guided, so you can go at your own pace. They’ll transport you up the river, then prepare you for your excursion. If you have never kayaked before, don’t worry! They’ll give you easy instructions on what to do. Once you start your trip, the flow of the river will guide you back to their base.
A Kayaking Excursion with Shenandoah River Outfitters
Shenandoah River Outfitters offer many Shenandoah Valley kayaking and canoeing excursions that are perfect for seeing the area. Choose your trip based on scenery you want to see or length. They even offer overnight kayaking trips for those who want to camp in between your time out on the water! We recommend taking their Sampler Trip. You’ll get to see 3 miles of breathtaking mountains, wildlife, and more.
Get a Rental from Shenandoah River Adventures
Shenandoah River Adventures has a hands-off approach to their kayak rentals. They launch boats every hour until 2:00; once you’re in, you can paddle where you want! If you need instruction, you can add a guide. Once you’re in the water, paddle wherever your heart desires. Just make sure you call ahead because same-day reservations are occasionally not accepted!
