You won’t walk in on a wedding at this place — it’s all about the wine.  The location is a high mountain ridge with dramatic views.  The name of one of their wines, “Hardscrabble” gives a clue as to the terroir.  Open Friday through Monday.  Closed some holidays.

Only five miles from the entrance to Skyline Drive, this fourth generation mountain-side farm produced the 2012 Virginia Governor’s Cup winner with their 2009 Hodder Hill Bordeaux-styled red blend.
